We were tasked with making a very utilitarian outdoor space in a mixed use building called #PromenadeGateway in #Santa Monica into a desirable space for residents to escape to.
One design challenge was the existing enclosure area for the air-conditioning had a huge vent! ! We designed a 2 level patio of #Resysta in the area that steps up to lounge chairs at its highest point. A pergola in a rich dark green defines the space with the #RichardSchultz lounges from #designwithinreach, stools that act as side tables from #Tidelli, planters from #Tournesol.
In front of that challenging vent we did a metal trellis from #McNicholsCompany for the vines to grow into with an exterior blankets of insulation by @accousticalsolutions for sound control with the water sound being the new peaceful sound from the fountains by #Compania.
